Marvel’s Doctor Strange Film Has a Director
According to Scott Derrickson’s Twitter account, the director, noted for his work on The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister, and the forthcoming Deliver Us from Evil, will be helming Marvel Studios’ forthcoming adaptation of the Sorcerer Supreme himself, Doctor Strange.
The announcement, accompanied by the above photo, consisted of the simple statement, “My next movie will be STRANGE.” Whether that is Derrickson’s shorthand for the full title, or if Marvel will indeed be dropping the “Doctor” moniker for the film remains unclear. If the latter is the case, we can safely expect speculation regarding the long-rumored film being an adaptation of J. Michael Straczynski’s well-received Strange miniseries from 2004, which revamped the Master of the Mystic Arts’ origin for a modern audience.
