Haha, I liked that a lot. Hockey’s an intense sport in close quarters; makes sense that it has such a violent reputation. Never thought I’d care much for a hockey story, but you have a great feel for action. Nice one as always, Rem.
I finally remembered what this was reminding me of: the old boxing stories Robert E. Howard used to write for the pulps. They’re fun reads, even if it seems weird in retrospect that that was ever “a thing.”
I’ll have to check them out! I’ve been looking for ways to practice depicting action without resorting to militaristic combat.
If only I lived in a time when people had to read for entertainment, hah. Who knows what I’d be writing then.
