Flash Fiction Friday, Week 2: We’re Just Friends?
In collaboration with the rejuvenated version of Flash Tales’ erstwhile predecessor, Flash Fiction Friday, Black Ship is thrilled to present the following prompt by Joyce Juzwik, F3 head honcho. Be sure to check out the main site (linked above), and contribute a story either here or there! We look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Ah, love. The many splendored thing that makes the world go ‘round. As long as it’s traveling down a two-way street, that is. Unfortunately, that’s not always the path it chooses to take. Unrequited love has been the inspiration for numerous songs, movies, and novels. It has also been the driving force behind countless court cases and restraining orders.
This week, let’s give our readers a peek at Cupid’s dark side. You know, when that arrow-toting, diaper-clad little freak only nails one-half of a potential couple with his sugar-coated barbs. While we’re at it, let’s also crank it up a notch or two and kick the real world to the curb.
Prompt: Spin us a yarn about unrequited love.
Genre: Science Fiction
Word Count: 1,500 or less.
Deadline: Thursday, September 10, 2015
It’s been ages since I wrote a short story but it’s good to get back into the saddle! http://scribblesofarose.webnode.com/news/remember-that-time/
