F3, Week 27: Fun with Fright

Prompt by Joyce Juzwik

Lately, I’ve been on a monster kick. I’ve been watching some epic films like The Mist, It Came from Beneath the Sea, The Blob, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and one of my all-time favorites, Pumpkinhead. I know we’ve got a few months before Scare Day rolls around, but monsters are great fun to watch, read about, and write about any time of the year.

This week, let’s wake up some of our creepy friends from their pre-Halloween hibernation. You can go the supernatural route, and dredge up something from a grave, or share a day in the life of a creature, like a giant mosquito. Pick your favorite monster and give them headline billing in your tale.

Prompt: Write a story that features at least one monster

Genre: Open

Word Count: 1,500 or less

Deadline: Thursday, March 3, 2016

Post your story on your blog or website and provide a link to it in the comment section of this prompt.
