F3, Week 29: Get Your Green On
Prompt by Joyce Juzwik
Next Thursday, March 17, 2016 is the Feast of Saint Patrick, also known as St. Patrick’s Day. The day commemorates Saint Patrick, and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish. Most major cities around the world celebrate the day too, with parades, street theater, and dance presentations. Pubs and restaurants make sure they have a ready supply of Irish whiskey, as well as keeping another St. Patrick’s Day favorite on hand – Green Beer.
St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated with food and drink and all things green. It is also the time of year when leprechauns and other fairies are out and about playing practical jokes on one and all. It is said that if you catch one, he will be obligated to lead you to his pot of gold. If only!
